Edgeplay II: Breath Control

Fetishes

I like breath control because it places the Dominant in the driving seat of the most basic driving force of all life - breathing. (What’s this you ask? Breath control about controlling breathing? Surely not!)

While it’s a nice idea, I’m uncomfortable with strangulation. It has been used both as a form of controlled erotic ‘violence’ and as an orgasm enhancer in many fields of sexuality.I could imagine using a scarf or similar object for light strangulation - more of a symbolic gesture than anything else, and if things went OK with that we could try upping the pace a bit. A very little bit.

In the past I have occasionally used my hands to control pet’s breathing by covering his mouth with my hand or pinching his nostrils together. This is a very safe form of control and I find it very erotic so I’ll be doing more of it in future. When doing this I’d advise you to watch and tune into your partner’s breathing rhythm so you have a good idea of what is going on.

My favourite way of controlling breath would be through rubber Breath Control suits, in which there is only one airway for the passage of air to the submissive, usually a rubber tube which can be blocked with a simple closing of the fist. In that way you get to hold your submissive’s life literally in the palm of your hand.

Oddly (?) this is the kind of thing that freaks Richard out the most, though my interest in it is slowly making him more open to it. For now this is all hypothetical, though, since this kind of apparatus is so expensive that it’s only for the rich (we don’t play in dungeons and playrooms).

The other thing we can do to a submissive’s breath is pollute it with bad smells, such as farts, but Richard isn’t nearly as disturbed by bad smells as most people, so long as they are organic. So I guess there’s something else to add to my (imaginary) wishlist:

Comments

Mmmmmmm breath play is wonderful! Personally, I’m partial to queening, but there are plenty of other fun ways. For example, using a hand is simple yet effective. Boots or feet also work well.
You’re right though- the dom/me needs to keep an eye on the sub, establish a nonverbal safeword, and preferably be “in tune” with the sub.

How do you feel?

Feel free to share your feelings about Edgeplay II: Breath Control. Please stick to the theme of the entry. Disagreement is fine. Homophobia, racism, and kindred expressions of hatred will be deleted. This site is one of my hobbies. I genuinely enjoy hearing from people and hate moderating or killing comments. Forthright disagreement is fine as long as it is civil.
My thanks,
Alexandra
