Some Thoughts on Objectification
• Fetishes
Objectification has always been a common theme in many of my fantasies, both real and unrealizable. To me it touches on a number of elements at once - it can be sensual in an abstract way, since the slave is getting out-of-context sensations such as being walked on or used as an ashtray - he is effectively ‘off-road’ and driving through no-man’s-land. It’s also simultaneously degrading in a way which enforces the sensuality. The feeling of shoes against your body may be a nice one in many cases, but it also adds to the fantasy that you are nothing. You get to feel what pure matter feels.
Through objectification comes a way to face a primal dilemma. Our spirit is trapped inside a material body, and part of us will not accept that. As an intellectual being you feel you exist outside of space and time - you think, therefore you are - however, our body always tells us that this is not so. Place the body in an uncomfortable position, and the mind suffers.
We are all basically, to some uncontrollable degree, matter. I’m not denying the existence of a soul, as it is my belief that we are all primarily spirit on the deepest level; but there’s no denying that we, in this realm we affectionately call ‘reality’, have our senses and experiences heavily influenced by our material body. The cornerstone example of this is the man who is a complete arse-hole, gets shot in the head in a freak accident (or something) but survives, and changes to become a generous saint (through no other means than having the parts of his brain that made him bad, destroyed by the bullet wound).
We are all influenced by our material manifestation, often drastically so. During the course of an objectification fantasy we get to stare this demon in the face - to become purely material (in the fantasy at least) and experience the universe in a way that only an inanimate object could, such as a chair, floor, ashtray, bath mat, or toilet.
And so this is how I arrived at the fantasy of men becoming small fruit in the street or other garbage to be destroyed, stepped on without thought, or to be a living floor that feels the design of my shoe as a pressure pattern - sometimes uncomfortable, sometimes thrilling, and sometimes extremely painful. The same goes for any other type of objectification scenario (I just gravitate to things involving shoes because - you know me!).
In reality, we have real means to feel objectification, such as trampling and other objectification scenarios. It is up to the domina to ensure that the subject (or is that object?!) feels he is being disregarded as an inamimate object, yet still ensure that emotional and physical safety is retained.
