Cruelty In the News

Jesus Christ… What is the world coming to? Last evening I heard on the news of a group of youths with an older ringleader who took advantage of a mentally handicapped man. They paraded him about on a leash, made him eat 90 paracetamol tablets, and probably beat him too (I was so shocked by the report that I can’t - don’t want - to recall). Then they took him to the top of a viaduct, made him hang off, at which point the young female stamped on his fingers until he fell to his death.

To make it worse, they showed the viaduct. So it was easy for me to picture the scene. I’d have rather not, but what can you do? What the fuck is wrong with people? It was like something died inside of me for a few hours. I felt ashamed of what’s inside my head, though I wouldn’t equate what they did to what I/we do.

The ringleader got life imprisonment (25 years I think), the ‘kids’ are being tried on Monday.

The next news report featured a hunt for a paedophile. They had extracted a confession from him in which he admitted to liking bondage and D/s (people being tied up and having things done to them). And this is relevant to what exactly? What the fuck does this have to do with paedophilia? Hello?!

It was reassuring that even my dad spoke up in defence of bondage in this case. It makes me feel more at ease.

I sometimes read something that causes the same feeling of self-alienation. But, of course, the beauty and passion that we share really has nothing to do with what the violent, evil perverts do to innocents.

sigh Always that need to tie things back to BDSM … and yes, what a world.

How do you feel?
